Eardrum Perforation: Endoscopic Eardrum Repair

Why Don't Eardrums Close?

Severe trauma, barotrauma (like diving), or chronic middle ear infections in childhood can cause permanent holes in the eardrum. This perforation leaves the middle ear vulnerable to water and bacteria, leading to recurrent discharge and hearing loss.

Endoscopic Ear Surgery (Incisionless Method)

Traditionally, a large incision was made behind the ear. Today, with Endoscopic Tympanoplasty, the repair is done entirely through the ear canal using the patient's own cartilage membrane or muscle fascia. There are no external stitches or scars, and the patient returns to normal life the next day.
